Job Description:
SLW Day Care Assistant
To cover Sickness or Annual leave of existing staff members potentially at short notice.
About You
We’re looking for a resourceful, ideas person, who is fun and outgoing. Is this you?
Preferably you will have an NVQ Level 2 in a care related field or willing to work towards this qualification and have experience of working with older people, and people with dementia.
You’ll always be supported and looked after by your Southampton Living Well colleagues and wider Social Care in Action family, and full training will be provided.
About the role
A Community Enabler’s role can be wide and varied – no two days are the same – but here’s an idea of what you could be doing.
Promoting and encouraging independence, whilst assisting the people we support with a range of fun activities.
Identifying new opportunities for integration, participation and inclusion, available to the people we support, both within our services and the community.
Providing quality personal care, which could include bathing etc. depending on individual needs, while maintaining respect and sensitivity.
Liaising with other professionals, assisting with assessments and completing administrative tasks, making sure it’s a great community hub to be part of.
Participating in everything from trips to the seaside, local parks and garden centres to enjoying a boogie at an afternoon tea dance, encouraging the people we support to join in.
Engaging in conversation and sometimes having a belly laugh together over something silly!
