About the role:
SCA Care Independent Living Service supports individuals with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health needs focusing on building and maintaining life skills and opportunities through a strengths based, personalised approach to support.
We are currently seeking to recruit motivated people to work with a bright and energetic young woman who has a severe learning disability and physical disability who lives at home with her family.
The young woman enjoys many activities including music, dance, swimming, animation and getting out and about. She has a passion for theme parks and roller-coasters!!
The Role:
The role will require you to work throughout the week from Monday through to Sunday and will involve mornings, afternoons and evenings, depending on her needs and wishes, so flexibility is a key part of this role.
You will be supporting her with all aspects of day to day living including various activities such as swimming, Zumba, Day Services, etc. as well as social outings and activities.
We are looking for someone who has a positive and encouraging nature to support the young woman to develop her independence and to achieve her life goals and aspirations.
Support will be required in relation to personal care, nutrition and hydration as well as medication.
A key part of your role will be to understand the person you are supporting which will include providing a personalised approach to support in a manner that is professional, positive and upholds the values of SCA Care. The key aim is to support the person in a manner that is tailored to their unique and individual needs. This should be done in a way which promotes respect, dignity and compassion at all times.
