Richard lives in his own home with his wife.
Richard’s limited feeling in his knees and arms often causes him to fall over. In particular Richard struggles to have a shower by himself, and along with the falls this had lead to a loss of confidence.
Our team of Home Support Workers at SCA Care support Richard so he can continue to live in his own home. Donna is one of Richard’s regular support workers: “Donna does everything we need, she fills the gap.”
For Richard, having a carer gives him “freedom”.
For Richard’s family knowing that he has regular visits from Home Support Workers like Donna means they are less stressed and worried about him, giving them some of their time back.
Richard explained that because of the care he receives it has enabled him to live with his condition. The care is “brilliant, it has changed my life.” Richard says that without support from SCA Care he wouldn’t be able to manage and would feel lost.
